Managed Care Organizations

Since the introduction of managed long-term services and supports (MLTSS) were originally introduced to intellectual and developmental disabilities services in the 1980s, the field has struggled to include the IDD population in traditional MLTSS service structures.  The complexity of ensuring outcome-based services for this population has proven challenging in many states.  However, as this funding model has grown in recent years, so too has the need for managed care organizations to identify sustainable, outcome-based models for the IDD population.

Community Bridges has valuable experience acting as a subject matter expert to managed care organizations looking to grow their service area.  Our team can assist in the RFP drafting to ensure that IDD services fit into the current structure of the managed care organization, while bringing forward best practices to help position your organization for growth in IDD services.  Also, our staff has experience working through issues facing managed care organizations such as stakeholder engagement, utilization management, provider network management, service array selection, and programmatic evaluation. Our unique approaches aim to increase efficiency without sacrificing individual choice and person-centered services.
